The last two days have been somewhat low for me. I seem to be carrying around yesterday’s “I’m a bad wife & follower of Christ” guilt & tomorrows pressures “to get it right.” This means that today I feel disappointed in myself as I have an idea of how much more mature I should be which leaves me feeling slimy and heavy.Bringing this to Jesus over the past two days has brought out some freeing Truths in which I am asking him to help me trust him in:
-My bad-feeling-self-conscious days do not define me
-I can approach his throne of grace to fall into His mercy ANY time I need (Heb 4:16)
Note: I think that I know better than God about how many times I can approach this throne of grace. With comments like, “you should have conquered that issue by now” I basically let God know I’ve had enough chances and am therefore not allowed to have any more mercy.
Thank-you Lord for confronting this untruth that I am usually unaware of. Often, I’m convinced that I get a limited amount of mercy because “I should know better & be more mature by now!”
Folks, I’m convinced change is most often slow & that fast changes are what we call miracles. The slow process of transformation seems to bid a deep, thorough, struggle-filled, and glorious journey.
And yet I declare that despite our weaknesses, “we are not among those who shrink back and so are lost, but among those who have faith and are saved” (Heb 10:39)
